We had a fabulous time on our school trip!

On Tuesday, we visited Ash End House Farm - and what a wonderful time we had!  The weather was fairly kind to us and stayed dry which meant we were able to tour the farm without getting too soggy!

We saw lots of animals (adults and their babies) and managed to hand feed many of them.  Can you describe how it felt on your hand as you fed them?  We also handled chicks and ducklings and even had a chick perched upon our arm (so cute)!  Of course, we had to wash our hands many times to remove any sticky germs!
We discovered where our milk comes from and linked this with our Healthy Eating Topic in Science.

A new experience for this year was the Falconry Display - we all gasped with delight as a Harris Hawk named Hebe flew over our heads!

The children brought home a fresh egg from the Hen House - these are unfertilised eggs and perfectly safe for eating (sorry, no baby chicks will hatch!) - HOW WILL YOU EAT YOURS?
I'm sure the children will have told you all about their amazing trip and they have brought home activity booklets to share with their grown-ups.  We are also in the process of writing our recounts and making a class memory booklet.

Unfortunately, we are having a few 'technical difficulties' with the many photographs that were taken, but we will soon be able to post a selection on the blog and school website.

All the staff and children enjoyed a wonderful experience, with many memories to treasure.
