Roman Numerals

Some of you are keen to understand the numbers that Romans used (Roman numerals).

Here is a link that can help you

http://www.mathsisfun.com/roman-numerals.html

After half term we will be using Roman numerals in maths.  Can you remember where we might see Roman numerals being  used nowadays?

Boudicca Poem

We also used this poem to help us understand more about who Boudicca was.

Roman links

These are some of the links we have been using at school to find out about the Romans and Celts.  Have a browse around for more interesting facts.

Some of the facts that you have asked to find out about are:
Roman Gods;
Celts;
Where Romans lived.

Boudicca song!

Who was Boudicca?  Why was she known as the Warrior Queen?

We shared this song in class to find out about her - here it is again! ENJOY!

Happy Half Term, Year 3!

Enjoy your half term break, Year 3 - let's hope the weather is a little kinder to us this week!

Remember to keep up with your spellings, reading and times tables practice.

Watch out for further web links, that I will be posting, to help you with your research for the Romans.  Remember, when we return we will be looking at the Roman army, what the Romans did for leisure and fun, Roman legacies (what they left for us) and Roman homes.

Birmingham Symphony Hall - Primary Proms Concert

On Monday, Year 3 took the train into Birmingham to visit Symphony Hall.  We watched the Primary Proms Concert, hosted by Music For Youth.  We had a wonderful time, listening to different types of music and singing.  The performers were all very talented!

Can you remember the names of your favourite musical instruments?

What was your favourite performance?  Did the trip inspire you to become a musician?

Check out the school website to see more pictures from our trip.

Thank you to Mrs Aldred for organsing this experience for us!
