Sacrament of Reconciliation - Well Done!

Well done to Year 3 and the Children of the Parish who made their First Confession this morning. You were very reverent and the prayer service was beautiful.

This is a wonderous step in Your Faith Journey, as we begin to prepare to receive the Eucharist for the first time in May next year.

Can you explain how you felt today?

Well done everyone! You all read and sang beautifully. It was a very special moment when you were all standing on the steps in front of the parish!

You can view some pictures of the celebration by clicking on the Holy Souls School Website link, to the right.

Thank you also to the choir, instrumentalists and Mrs Aldred. You were all wonderful!

What a fantastic start the this part of Your Faith Journey
We now look forward to celebrating the Sacrament of First Reconciliation on Saturday 15th November.

...this sets out some child friendly guidelines, using Fireman Sam.
They recommend that  'Children should not browse video sharing sites unsupervised'.

Activity Village
"If you are going to an organised event or plan to set off fireworks [sic...at home], make sure that everyone involved knows all about safety. We have the Fireworks Code available to print, some minibooklets to test the children and some safety tips from everyones favourite fireman, Fireman Sam!

Here's a fun way to make sure your family is safe on Bonfire Night - watch this series of videos to take some tips from Fireman Sam! And of course he has Elvis and Norman around to make sure everyone understands."

***Thursday Basketball Club!***

This is a post for the children currently attending our Basketball club on Thursday

Coach Kurtis has advised you to watch some Junior High School basketball videos to understand how fast-paced the game should be.  He wants you to pay particular attention to the movement and travelling of players and how they pass the ball to one another.  Remember - it's all about TEAMWORK!

I have included a suitable link below...

This is also a video from the England Under 16's Junior Finals in 2012!

How are animal skeletons different/the same as humans? - Science

Can you remember the functions of our skeleton?  Do you remember how many bones an adult body has?  Can you feel the bones in your body - can you remember what they are called?

 http://www.sciencekids.co.nz/gamesactivities/movinggrowing.html

Continuing our Science work on skeletons, this week we will be comparing skeletons of humans to those of different animals.

Do you know who these skeletons belong to?
(could it be a...frog, human, cheetah or pelican...?)
What is the same and what is different about these skeletons?

Take a look at the link below to see more about animal skeletons.

Coming up after half term...
...we will be looking at how we move our bones during daily activities and exercise.
