Can you help us, please?! - Flora and Stork Scheme

******** Can you help us, please?! ********

This autumn Flora and Stork, in partnership with Tesco, are running an amazing scheme called Tubs4Tablets. The scheme aims to help our school bring cutting edge technology into the classroom by giving us the opportunity to collect tokens from special tubs of Flora and Stork on sale at Tesco through early October and exchange them for FREE touch screen tablets!

Help us make our campaign a success! We need to collect as many tokens as possible, these can be found on promotional 500g tubs of Flora Original, Light and Buttery and Stork. Hand us your tokens… Just 50 tokens will get our school one brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0” Wi-Fi 8GB tablet so help us to claim as many as we can.

Spread the word! Remember, if friends, neighbours, work colleagues and family can help too we could collect even more tokens to exchange for tablets. There’s no limit to the amount of FREE tablets we can claim for the school!

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to come and ask.

Coming up in maths next week - Shape.

Next week in maths we will be looking at 2D and 3D shapes.
Here is a fun way to remember 3d shapes. Can you name any others?

Have a go at this game for a reminder of all the 2D shapes you know.

YOU WILL SOON BE SINGING THESE SONGS IN YOUR SLEEP AND QUICKLY BECOME A SHAPE MATHEMATICIAN!

We had a fabulous time on our school trip!

On Tuesday, we visited Ash End House Farm - and what a wonderful time we had!  The weather was fairly kind to us and stayed dry which meant we were able to tour the farm without getting too soggy!

We saw lots of animals (adults and their babies) and managed to hand feed many of them.  Can you describe how it felt on your hand as you fed them?  We also handled chicks and ducklings and even had a chick perched upon our arm (so cute)!  Of course, we had to wash our hands many times to remove any sticky germs!
We discovered where our milk comes from and linked this with our Healthy Eating Topic in Science.

A new experience for this year was the Falconry Display - we all gasped with delight as a Harris Hawk named Hebe flew over our heads!

The children brought home a fresh egg from the Hen House - these are unfertilised eggs and perfectly safe for eating (sorry, no baby chicks will hatch!) - HOW WILL YOU EAT YOURS?
I'm sure the children will have told you all about their amazing trip and they have brought home activity booklets to share with their grown-ups.  We are also in the process of writing our recounts and making a class memory booklet.

Unfortunately, we are having a few 'technical difficulties' with the many photographs that were taken, but we will soon be able to post a selection on the blog and school website.

All the staff and children enjoyed a wonderful experience, with many memories to treasure.

If you want to find out more about Ash End House Farm we have provided a web link below.

Thank you Parents!

Thank you for attending our Parental Consulations over the past few weeks.  As ever, it is a pleasure to meet the grown-ups of our children to discuss their progress, during what has already been a very busy first half term!  (It's also useful for you to see where they spend their busy days!)

As always, if you have any questions or anything you wish to discuss, you can always catch up with your child's class teacher at the end of a school day or leave a note in their daily diary.

We look forward to gathering with you again soon, as we meet to discuss your child's Sacrament of Reconciliation (letter to follow shortly).
