Instructions

Have a go at making tea for my Gran. Put the pictures in the correct order and then write the instructions underneath. Don't forget those bossy (imperative) verbs and time connectives.

Adding and Subtraction

http://www.wmnet.org.uk/wmnet/custom/files_uploaded/uploaded_resources/851/Hitthebuttonv7.swf

This is a good link for adding and subtraction games. ( There are also times and divide games!!)

Does a plant need water to grow?

We set up a fair test experiment to investigate this question.

We have left three green plants ( the same kind) in the same place, (with the same temperature, amount of light and size of pot) for a week.

The only condition we have changed is the amount of water we give to the plant each day.

Plant A has 200 ml of water.

Plant B has 100 ml of water.

Plant C has no water.

We have made predictions and will look at our results next lesson!

Following Instructions

This week in Literacy, we have been looking at instructions.
We followed a set of instructions to make our own Chinese lanterns.
Here is an example of some of them.
We looked at what needs to be included in a good set of instructions and will have a go next week at writing some of our own.

Fractions

This half term in Maths our targets will be all about FRACTIONS.

Have a go at the following links to understand what we mean by a fraction...

This link helps us understand what a fraction shows:

These two links helps us to design a flag with different colours:

This game helps us to find fractions of numbers (with some friendly handy hints!!)
