On Saturday 10th May and Saturday 17th May, Year 3 and the Children of the Parish will be celebrating the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. Our preparation began in September of last year; with Enrolment Mass, and then the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, in November and at the beginning of Lent. We have been working extremely hard for the sanctity of this moment and are now very excited!
Here are a few reminders for you consider:
We will be
meeting at Sacred Heart and Holy Souls Church on Thursday 8th May at 3.15p.m. for prayers with Father Craig and for a run through of logistics, which will hopefully answer any last minute questions you may have.
The children will be going over to
church for practices week beginning 5th May and 12th May, according to respective weeks. Please ensure your child brings a coat to school each day incase of adverse weather conditions.
As a family, could we ask that you
encourage your child to practise their communion prayer, mass responses, readings and hymns - these are all important parts of their preparation in understanding the Sacrament and for the running of the services themselves.
We would like to take this opportunity to express what an honour it is to be preparing with you and your children and hope that you all enjoy what will surely be a special moment in your child's life.
