'I felt special when I realised that God had chosen me.'

Next week is the start of Advent. We will start to think this week what we do during Advent and who we are preparing for.

Well done Year 3!

Well done Year Three. You made your First Confession this morning in a very spiritual and reflective way. What a special day for 3C and 3W. Thank you and well done to your friends who helped you prepare over last week!

What is going to happen to our hero?

Last week we wrote the setting to our myth. How will our hero save the day?

Many years ago, it was a warm and starry night in the enormous city.

The sky was bright orange, and as shiny as Christmas wrapping paper. The huge buildings glittered with their warm lights.

The people on the streets were rushing because they wanted to get to their comfy homes.

The roads were full of zooming cars, beeping their horns.

Suddenly

This week is Book Week!

Don't forget that the Book Fair is in school all week. We will visit as a class. Ask your grown ups if you can pop in one night after school. We will be talking about favourite characters in books. Who might you pick?
Well done Year 3 and those children of the Parish who led the liturgy at our Enrolment Mass this morning. Your readings and singing on the altar were wonderful. This now officially marks the start of our preparation for our First Holy Communion!

Jack and the Beanstalk

This week in Literacy... we shall be using our fabulous new Alan Peat writing techniques to improve the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We will use this link as a starting point.

This week in RE

This week in RE we will be looking at stories in the bible which tell us about forgiveness. We looked at the prodigal son last week, what other stories can we find out about? This video below retells one of them!

Thank you Year 3

Well done to everyone in Year 3 (and the rest of the school) who supported the shoe box appeal for Operation Christmas Child. The boxes MUST be in by Monday so that they can be sent off in time for Christmas!

This is the setting we are going to use for our myth. I need you to think of as many wow words as possible to help you to describe this scene.

Hickory Dickory Dock!

This is a fun way of checking your understanding of time - you need to get the answers right to feed the mouse with cheese. Watch out! - if you get the answers wrong, the mouse will go hungry!
