Communion Sash

This blog post is for all boys making their Holy Communion on Saturday. You will receive your red sash for Communion on Thursday or Friday. Included with the sash is an explanation on how to put the sash on. We need sashes back in school NEXT Thursday. You will also find a red tie in the envelope with 2011 on it. This is yours to wear on Saturday and keep as a momento.

Any questions? Come and ask Miss Cranmer or Miss Wood

His campaign is called 'Helping Harry Help Others'.

We talked today about how we could support this cause and make the bracelets in school. Year 3 came up with some fab ideas. We voted which of our 'best four' we could do. Here are the votes:

Afterschool club = 3 votes

Send packs of beads home = 9 votes

Write instructions and make in Literacy = 3 votes

Have a 'project' week where we look at the campaign in lots of subjects = 33 votes.

Getting ready for our First Holy Communion

On Saturday is our First Holy Communion. Do not forget to practice your hymns!
We will be going over to Church next week so that we can prepare for our special day.

These are the prayers after Communion that we will share. We hope that you are learning them!

1. Lord Jesus I love and adore you
You’re a special friend to me.
Welcome, Lord Jesus, O welcome
Thank you for coming to me.

2. Thank you, Lord Jesus, O thank you
For giving yourself to me!
Make me strong to show your love
Wherever I may be

3. Be near me Lord Jesus,
I ask you to stay
Close by me for ever
And love me I pray.
Bless all of the children
In your loving care
And bring us to Heaven
To live with you there.

Our trip to Alton Castle

Our Visit to Alton Castle was fantastic. Well done Year 3! Scroll down to see where we went!

We all had chance to have a tour of the castle, share a mediation, play games using team work and make some art work. We completed our retreat day with a prayer service where we thought about the feeding of the 5000. The staff there made us feel very welcome.

We will post pictures of our other activities on the life channel.

This was our view when we had lunch on our trip.

This is a picture of Alton Castle where we went on our trip yesterday.
